CIGA design x Label Noir. Co-create a timepiece born from a shared fascination with the cosmos. As the successor to the award-winning Blue Planet, which celebrated Earth’s beauty, Black Star shifts its gaze outward—into the unknown. It explores contrast: from life to void, balance to gravity, the familiar to the infinite.
At the center of the dial, an 8.50mm Super Black pit evokes a black hole, absorbing light like time collapsing in space. Around it, spiral-painted stars in blue and white trace the motion of a distant galaxy. Above, a luminous polar-star hand orbits silently, guiding a direction that defies gravity and forges its own way.
What began as a conversation between two design philosophies became a year-long co-creation that reimagined time. CIGA design, with its aesthetics-driven mechanics, partnered with Label Noir, whose monochrome language speaks through contrast and subtlety. Together, we crafted
Black Star—a timepiece reflecting the vastness of space and the possibility of collaboration. It marks a new chapter in independent watchmaking,
where design transcends categories and every detail is intentional.
In 2021, the CIGA design Blue Planet stood out among 208 entries at the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève (GPHG), the “Oscars of Watchmaking.”
