Description

NexStar 8 SE – Simplifying Astronomy

Following in the tradition of Celestron’s renowned orange tubes, the new NexStar SE family combines the classic heritage of the original  telescopes with the latest technology including: Fully automated operating system, upgradeable (via flash) controller, industry-leading StarBright XLT coatings, revolutionary SkyAlign™ telescope alignment software and more.

With NexStar SE, you’re in the driver’s seat: Simply select an item from the menu and the telescope will find it for you. Using patented NexStar® technology, SE telescopes have the ability to locate approximately 40,000 objects. All you have to do is look through the eyepiece and enjoy the spectacle!

Don’t know which object to choose? Let the resourceful NexStar SE take you on a scheduled tour of the night sky! The “Tour” option offers a list of the most interesting celestial objects tailored to the time you choose and your location anywhere in the world!

  • NexStar SE can not only find objects but also teach you about them. On the LCD screen of your controller you can see information about the most popular objects.
  • Whether you’re an experienced astronomer looking for a portable telescope with advanced features or you’re just starting your astronomy journey and looking for an easy way to enjoy the night sky, a NexStar SE will help you see closer. All telescopes in the NexStar SE series can be operated without the tripod (as a tabletop telescope).

Each NexStar SE includes a planetarium-style CD-ROM version of “The Sky® Level 1”: This allow you to explore the Universe on your computer and print maps of the sky as you want them, and a CD-ROM with “NexRemote” software, which allows you to operate your telescope via your personal computer. All in all, a software package of considerable value

All telescopes in the NexStar SE series are also suitable for ground-based observations and photography: And they can also be used as “desktop” telescopes without the need to use the tripod, which is, however, included as standard equipment.
The range also includes the NexStar 4 SE, NexStar 5 SE and NexStar 6 SE models.
