Description
Levenhuk LabZZ Tellurion is a tabletop mechanical model demonstrating the Earth and Moon’s orbit around the Sun. Tellurion will teach children why there are seasons, how the Moon’s phases change, and why the year has twelve months. The Tellurion is a wonderful visual aid for astronomy and geography lessons.
The Tellurion is screwed onto a base. All parts of the Tellurion are connected by gears. The models of the Earth and the Moon move when a small crank is turned.
There is a model of the Sun (with internal lighting) in the center of the orbiting mechanism. The Sun lamp is turned on with a button located under the base.
The Earth sphere revolves around the Sun in a counterclockwise direction. With the help of the Tellurion, you can see the seasons change. Each time the Earth completes a full orbit around the Sun, the Moon completes twelve orbits around the Earth, corresponding to the 12 months of the year.
The basic elements of this model are made of durable and safe plastic. The diameter of the Sun model is 100 mm, the Earth model is 85 mm, and the Moon model is 18 mm.
Caution: the Tellurion contains small parts! Do not allow children to play with the Tellurion without supervision!
