HOW IT WORKS: When you add the crystalline compound to hot water, it dissolves into tiny particles. These particles are too small to see. The liquid is the solution of the powder. In fact, it is a saturated solution, because if you stir in more powder, it will not dissolve any more. Gradually, the water cools and some of it evaporates. Now, the water can’t keep all the particles dissolved, and some of them start to stick together again. More particles stick together, and after a while, groups of particles stick together. The particles stick together in a way that creates the crystals you see, with straight edges and flat surfaces.
CONTENTS: mixing bowl / transparent display stand, illuminated cover with color-changing LED (1.5V, 2 AG13 button batteries included), 1 bag of white crystal compound, stirring spoon, round paper cover, 3 bags of coloring agents, 1 bag of granule mix. Also required, but not included in the package: hot water, measuring cup, apron, safety glasses and plastic gloves.
